Hey, Let's Tally That Up Shall We

A few weeks ago in a galaxy far, far away . . . . . The husband decided to be adventurous [again]. Pulling out the Godiva Liqueur, Disaronno and Grand Marnier. . .

me: you should test that first. . . *blehck*
the husband: baby . . . . *innocent until proven guilty*
me: you should. I'm not trying that until you take a sip. *I am a Taurus. Duh.*
the husband: that's just mean. *sad puppy eyes*
me: well, the last concoction you made almost killed us, if you remember
the husband: that is not true. *my wife the drama queen*
the husband: *taking a sip* mmm. that's pretty good. Try it . . . . .
me: are you lying just to see the look on my face *death by sporking*
the husband: just try it. . .
me:*taking a supremely small sip* hey! We're calling that The Thomas! I want the rights! I want the royalties! I'm writing the movie and the book!
the husband: I told you it was good.
me: do you think that chef guy that invented the Cesar salad gets royalties? *early retirement!*

I thought you'd worked in marketing? No-one's going to order a "The Thomas"!

Sorry Thomas, but you know it's true, try it - "Two The Thomases please." - "Two Thomases please".

Now "Two Ian's please", trips of the tongue. I'm just sayin'.

"One I'd Ian" and "Two I'd Iain" sound like top cocktails. Of course, the "Two I'd Iain" would be a much more sophisticated drink.

You're right, I shall have to try to come up with a One I'd Ian. It won't be at all sophisticated, 'cos it will use whatever's in my booze cupboard. It's signature will be that it is thrown together in slapdash fashion with no regard to taste or quality. Sound like someone you know?

Fix your time zone by the way.

Ian: I would fix my time zone if this stoopid computer would let me. I've tried everything and it won't. let. me. change. my. time. Fecking thing. . . .

'The Thomas' is much more interesting to say when you're drunk. Not that I know this, I'm just sayin'. Besides, the husband is a sophisticated being and needs a sophisticated name for his sophisticated drink. It's staying.

Shanksi: lurve your new site!

Nice story.

Jen, I think you have to change the time zone in the blogger settings? It's not your computer...I don't think. Just an idea.

After a "One I'd Ian" then a "Two I'd Iain" who would be sober enough to care? I reckon we should call it the "Pntykh" or "Ihqsvspx" word verifications latest!

Or even better the "Zzisya"!!

uh. there's, like, 4 different time zones with "central" in them. Now the blonde is totally lost . . .

[for example, so ya'll don't think I'm totally crazy, central daylight time (x2) and central standard time (x2). seriously. WTH*ll? each one of those has some sort of time in front of them and none of them match me time zone. argh.]

I think you want the slightly confusing [UTC -6:00] Central Daylight Time from Formatting. Crap, Shanks will probably be on in a minute to rant about Daylight Savings Time.

I like Fi's idea for the cocktail name. The Zzisya is good, but it doesn't sounds as tasty as the "anioehao"

Ian: that IS what I have my time zone set to and it's still wrong as well as most likely why you told me to change it in the first place. Stoopid computers.

Ever since this new daylight savings time took effect earlier this year I have not been able to set my computers clock right (internal or otherwise).

Fi Love the Zzisya! But Ian's "anioehao" is a close third.

That's weird then, I dunno what's wrong, seems to work for me. Sod it, I'm off for a nice refreshing pint of "vavrti"
