I've Got To Get Back To Work & You've Got To Lay Off The Coffee

Due to recent circumstances, I have decided that I need to expand my 2008 Resolutions List (well that, and the fact that I forgot to record a few the other day whilst listing):

  1. eat less salt.
  2. give up the scale.
  3. wear a hat outside while sipping venti chai tea latte's.
  4. avoid flying car roofs on the freeway.
  5. be mentally okay with growing ever so gently closer to 40.
  6. stay in better touch with friends.

Please let me know if I've missed anything.

HA-HA! I think #3 is the most important! Prevention is key. ;p

I need to do #1, #2, & definitely #6. I am already doing better with #6. Soon, I will be adding #5.

Alli: I went cold-turkey on #2. I've been doing very okay with it. I don't miss it at all.

Re: #1 - I never ate salt until I moved to the south. What's up with that?

#6 is most important. I have to make more efforts on my part. Stay in touch better and make dates - lunch, vacations, visits, calls or whatever. No sense growing old alone in our home. Or even sitting at home when friends are out there!

P.S. #5 sneaks up on you. Sneaky-sneaky #5. . .

I loved being 40 - it was probably the best year of my life!

BTW I do not believe that you are getting very close to 40. Maybe getting close to 30 is what you really meant to type?

7. Read Jay's blog several times a day and remind all my friends and people I come into contact to do the same.

Just trying to help. ;-)

"be mentally okay with growing ever so gently closer to 40. "

I have less than 2 months to do this one! Thank God it's a leap year .. puts it off for one more day. LOL

What about hit your head less often? And not turning your neck too sharply and getting a cramp. Or did you WANT to continue doing those things in 2008? ;)

Before you moved to the south you were young and still had taste buds. Now they're dying off, you need more salt in your food, that's what it was invented for.

#4 LOL!

I think maybe I need to pick up number 5 as well... I still think I'm only 20 ;)

rock chef: It's true. But thanks for the much needed flattery! It'll get you everywhere!

Jay: as you wish! #7 Read Jay's blog several times a day and remind all my friends and people I come into contact to do the same. All SEVEN readers got that? !

and. . . I feel your pain about 40 though Rock Chef says it was his best year. . . Hmmmm.

Em: You are totally right! I think I hit my head one too many times last year, 'cos I forgot about those and the neck. I do not WANT those 2 things in 2008! For real.

Ian: You know, I've come to never doubt you, b/c you know far too many things that I don't & you are usually right, but. . . . really? That's true?

r.e.h.: Ino! I think I'm still only 20 myself! Maybe it's trickery o' the brain? Make you feel young and spry, but continue to have your body turn old and lethargic. Hm?

I don't even own a scale. I REFUSE. I'll know I need to lose weight when Hoop tries to pick me up and can't. :)

I know your blog is read by a number of qualified medical professionals, so I'm sure they'll chime in any minute, but I'm sure it's true.

#2 I'm with Tink on the scale (not literally....how much would we weigh?....) I mean about not owning one. I never have. L know I need to lose weight when my "skinny" clothes haven't seen daylight for over six months! I'm working on it.....Monday...honest!
#5...what do you mean??!! I thought we were just going to continue to celebrate anniversaries of our 30th from now on!! You're scaring me now!
