Gives Her a False Sense of Reality

Within the last two days, the husband and I have been experiencing some beautiful weather here in our Longhorn City. Yesterday, it was a high of 82-degrees F and right now it's 55-degrees F. I thought it was much warmer than that, especially since our thermometer at home said 71-degrees. . . . Hm? Sneaky, sneaky weather.

Either way, the husband and I decided that, today, we should go for an actual outdoor bicycle ride. Maybe I'd even get a leetol bit of a tan and not look like the walking dead. Bonus!

Little did I know it would be against blowing winds from Zeus himself, God of the heavens, brother of Demeter, Hera, Hestia and Poseidon. Coming from the west-northwest at 31-miles per hour up to 41-miles per hour. That was fun.

Good times, I've got to tell you.

You gotta lean as far forward as you can and try to be really sleek and minimize your wind resistance when that happens. Oh .. you probably already knew that, huh? ;-)

Jay: it didn't work. Aaaaaaand. . . .it was a "head-cross" wind. I was concentrating on not being blown over onto my side. but thanks nonetheless.

Good to see that I am not alone in having to cycle against silly winds! Mind you, it is fun when you turn around and have it behind you...

Love the cold weather being back. I bought a nice jacket a few weeks ago and thought I was going to have to put it away for 9 months.

That ought to have given you a good workout though. Riding a bicycle against the wind is really, really exhausting.

tt: weird, weird, weird weather for serious going on right now. I'm not getting it? Not nice, God. Not nice.

Alli: I would rather spork my eye out than get up at 4:30 AM. I'm just sayin'.

Rock Chef: Yeah. This is not what I call a good time. The wind is much less today (7 miles per hour from the southwest), but it's 48-degrees F out right now. I'm not that crazy, but the husband is out there on his bike as I type.

P.S. I forgot to mention how much I felt like a pro riding BACK to home at 23 miles per hour with the wind at my back! Ha!

Mama Bear: We get rain like that in Tejas, but just not recently. When it does that, the husband and I stand outside our front door watching the streets flood and trash cans being pulled down these streets by the current! Plus, we watch the stoopid drivers going through these flooded streets only to stall or start to wash away. That's frightening.

I don't miss the great whites norths' weather unless it's summer. They had pretty summers up there!

Ian: I don't mind the cold so much either, but riding a bike in that head wind was torturous. We were both spent, in fact, we turned around much sooner than planned to come home.

r.e.h.: we WERE exhausted! You're not kidding. As good as a workout it was, I couldn't have handled much more than what we did. As mentioned to Rock Chef, coming home sure was fun though!
