A Really Beautiful Relationship Is A Once in A Lifetime Thing

Where Were We?
Sometimes we are beerknurds.

Any guesses as to where the husband & I might have visited this past January 31st in the evening? Here's a couple more hints taken from plates (aka: Rings of Honor) which hang on the said buildings inside walls and ceilings:

For sale by owner: Liver. CHEAP! Slightly used.

To whole wheat. Now that's a toast.

I consumed 1.5 wheat (weizen) beers that tasted strangely fascinatingly enough like Fruity Pebbles! How great is that to have beer that tastes like sugared cereal? Fun times, I tell you. I could only drink 1.5 beers because I get a full belly-delly from fermented wheat products. And . . . . I'm old.

You were at The Flying Saucer!!!

My favorite beer joint EVER!

I used to go to the one in San Antonio so often they thought I worked there. LOL

I loved their nachos and of course had to get a Diggity Dog every once in a while.

The rest of their food isn't really that great. But, they have like 85 beers on tap and another 250 in bottle.

Jay: I forgot you lived in the city of the Alamo! I'd thunk I'd fooled out of towners. . . . so not.

If I had a prize, you'd win. You know what? They got weak. They've now started serving wines and not just cerveza's.

I love a good beer sampling. We have a bar here where I live that has over a hundred beers on tap, it's GREAT for figuring out what kinda beer you like!

Next time I am in San Antonio I will give it a try. I love to try different kinds of beer but sometimes you encounter one that tastes like I imagine urine would. Good post.

I had my share of beers yesterday... but not at a fancy joint like that.

Give me a few days (yeah, I'm old too), and I'll be ready to take on that place too!

Em: I heart beer too. More so when I was in college, b/c now they just fill me up. There is nothing like a good wheat beer or micro brew.

mbw: Velcomen! Or something like that to the equivalent of a German welcome greeting. Flying Saucers are around a few spots in the US; not just San Antonio. I have never had the displeasure of tasting beer that tastes like urine. I'd rather not. I may not heart beer so much after that. . . .

I'll be off to see your bloggy-blog in a bit.

r.e.h.: The Flying Saucers are fantastic beer joints! 100's of beers from EVERYWHERE, but only here in the good USofA.

Alli: If I am correct, and if Ian ever reads my blog again to correct me if I happen on the RARE occasion to be wrong, there is a Flying Saucer in H-town. For real. It's super fun - take the hubby with you one night and enjoy! I know he loves the beer. . . .

Rock chef: it was fantastic! I love being able to choose from 100's of beers. It's a challenge to find a great one!

g-man: Welcome Homer! Ha!

Is The Flying Saucer in H-town the place we started drinking that fateful (yet fantastic) night over a year ago?? I have a vague recollection of Weiss bier & golden saucers on the walls....it all went down hill after that so I can't be sure....

A beer that tastes like Fruity Pebbles?! It's obviously the work of the Debil.

Alex & Fi: Yes. That was the place! We have one here in our Longhorn City too - in fact there are a few of them located throughout the US. We can also blame the sneaky, sneaky margaritas we had afterwards, as well as the gin & tonics and . . . ! Good times!

Tink: D'oh. For serious.

tt: I somehow skipped you - not on purpose though. . . . I'm closer to "middle age" than I want to admit. Not that that's old. . . . but. . . er. . . . nevermind. . . .
